Ministry Opportunities

One of our first ministry opportunities of the new year involved going to Agape House, which is a children's HIV/AIDs center. We spent a morning playing with the children and spending quality time with them. They loved swinging on their playsets and playing duck, duck, goose! The energy they exerted kept us and the Australia team on our feet the entire time!

We had sack races with the kids and brought them oranges for a snack! They all wanted to be held and each child loved getting special attention. It was so humbling to serve these children and to see how hungry they were for love and affection.

Another ministry was the men's drug rehabiliation center. Our team, along with the Australian team, shared different messages and testimonies to encourage these men. Ben led us in worship, and we involved these men in our dancing, singing, and praising God! We sang a song, "Bambelela," which is a Zulu song/dance which means "hold onto Jesus".

We invited the men to come up and receive prayer for those who were ready to change their lives and follow Jesus. It was a blessing to pray for them and ask Holy Spirit to reveal himself in each of their lives.
Near the end, we shared oranges and soda with them. We attempted to have conversations with them despite the language barrier and prayed with those who wanted more prayer. These men came thirsty to receive God's direction for their lives and this day was special because they got a taste of the living water that Jesus offers to all people.

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:13-14)
